TAKING RESPONSIBILITY

Bringing you great tasting, convenient and nutritious fruit from around the world leaves its mark. Processing and transportation result in carbon emissions and we at Sundia are taking responsibility for our actions.

Four years ago, Sundia partnered with Clean Metrics www.cleanmetrics.com to conduct a life cycle analysis of our products and to offset our carbon footprint by 100%.

Since 2009 we have been fully Carbon Neutral and have an ongoing vision to positively impact the environment with our sustainability initiatives.

Transportation Footprint

In 2008 and 2009 Sundia “went to the source”. We now pack in four different countries around the world. The fruit comes in from the field, is washed, cut and packed – all on site – avoiding 1000s of miles of transportation by truck and boat.

Also by controlling the fresh fruit handling we can make sure that the by-products; the rind, peel, core, seeds are locally used for feed and compost – sustaining the local economies where we operate.

Virtual workplace

We take advantage of today’s web environment so we can work locally. In 2009 alone we reduced commuter miles by 83,000. That’s 37 tons of CO2!

And we support the comfort of a virtual working environment.

RECYCLED PLASTICS

Recycled plastics take up to 80% less energy to create and reduces waste and greenhouse gases.

We now use a cup that utilizes 50% recycled material and is 100% recyclable. So we never know what our True Fruit cups will turn into.
